Requirements by Operation Type

Private non-revenue flights and non-commercial landings do not require landing permission. Standard Schengen entry procedures apply.

Commercial non-scheduled flight clearance granted by the Ministry of Transport and Construction. Non-commercial stops exempt.

Covered by bilateral air service agreements. EU carriers operate freely under EU Regulation 1008/2008.

Remarks:

Landing Permit

  • Fees: No CAA processing fee; standard airport and LPS navigation charges apply. Eurocontrol billing for air navigation.
Remarks:

Required for non-EU carriers performing non-scheduled commercial flights to/from Slovakia. Non-commercial landings (refuelling, maintenance) do not require landing permission. EU carriers exempt for intra-EU operations.

Application Process:

Submit application to the Ministry of Transport and Construction at least 3 working days before the flight. Include AOC, insurance, EASA TCO authorization, and flight details.

Cabotage

Prohibited for non-EU carriers. EU carriers may operate cabotage under EU Regulation 1008/2008.

General Remarks

Slovakia is an EU and Schengen member state. The former Civil Aviation Authority was reorganized into the Transport Authority (Dopravny urad / NSAT). Working hours 0100Z-1000Z. LPS SR provides air navigation services.
