Requirements by Operation Type

Private flights require full permits. Same requirements as non-scheduled operations.

All non-scheduled flights require prior SSCAA approval. Online application portal available. Minimum 72-hour lead time.

Limited scheduled services. SSCAA oversees air operator certification and aerodrome certification.

Remarks:

SSCAA has implemented a Performance-based Navigation (PBN) system with AI-powered platform that records all flights in real time and automatically collects overflight fees. Online permit application available through e-services portal.

Application Process:

Apply through SSCAA e-services portal at sscaa.eservices.gov.ss. Submit flight details, aircraft documentation, routing, and operator information. Application progress tracked via email and SMS notifications.

Landing Permit

General Remarks

South Sudan became independent in 2011 and the SSCAA is a relatively new authority. E-services portal at sscaa.eservices.gov.ss provides online permit applications with email/SMS tracking. Infrastructure is limited. Security situation should be verified before operations. AIP available for download from SSCAA website.
