TMA

TMA (Terminal Control Area) is controlled airspace established around one or more airports to protect arriving and departing IFR traffic. The TMA typically extends from a specified lower altitude (e.g., 1,500 ft or 2,500 ft) up to an upper limit (e.g., FL245 or FL195).

The TMA encompasses the approach and departure paths and the area where SIDs and STARs operate. Depending on the country, the equivalent term may be TCA (Terminal Control Area) or TRACON (Terminal Radar Approach Control, US).
