Taxi Fuel

Taxi Fuel is the fuel expected to be consumed during ground operations — from engine start at the gate through taxi to the runway threshold. At congested airports, taxi fuel can be a significant portion of total fuel, especially during peak hours or in poor visibility.

  • Typically 10–30 minutes of fuel depending on airport size and expected delays
  • Large airports like KJFK, EGLL, or EDDF can require 20+ minutes of taxi
  • Often calculated using standard company values per airport, adjusted for known delays
  • Separate from trip fuel — not included in trip fuel calculations
