GA

GA (General Aviation) encompasses all civil aviation operations other than scheduled air services and non-scheduled air transport for hire. GA includes private flying, flight training, aerial work (surveying, photography, agriculture), business aviation, and recreational flying.

General aviation accounts for the vast majority of aircraft and flights worldwide. In the US alone, there are over 200,000 active GA aircraft compared to approximately 7,000 commercial airline aircraft.
