Declared Distances

Declared Distances are the four standardized runway distances published in the AIP for each runway direction, used by pilots and dispatchers for takeoff and landing performance calculations:

  • TORA (Take-Off Run Available): Length of runway available for the ground run during takeoff
  • TODA (Take-Off Distance Available): TORA plus any clearway beyond the runway end
  • ASDA (Accelerate-Stop Distance Available): TORA plus any stopway — the distance available to accelerate and stop in case of rejected takeoff
  • LDA (Landing Distance Available): Length of runway available for landing, measured from threshold (may be shorter than TORA if threshold is displaced)

These distances may differ from physical runway length due to displaced thresholds, stopways, and clearways.
