2001 — 2023
Incheon International Airport opened on 29 March 2001, built on reclaimed land between Yeongjong and Yongyu islands. It was completed ahead of the 2002 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan.
Terminal 2 opened in January 2018 for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, adding capacity for 18 million passengers and serving as the dedicated terminal for Korean Air and SkyTeam partners.
Incheon was ranked among the world's top 5 airports by Skytrax for 18 consecutive years. The airport's famous cultural experience program offers free Korean culture classes to transit passengers.
