Seattle-Tacoma International Airport opened on 9 June 1947 as a joint venture between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma, built on a site midway between the two cities.

1970s
1973

The distinctive space-age main terminal and satellite concourse system opened in 1973, establishing the concourse-with-underground-train model that many airports would later adopt.

2010s
2019

The International Arrivals Facility opened in 2019 with a 900-foot grand hall, making Sea-Tac the primary US gateway for transpacific travel from Asia to the Pacific Northwest.
